A governorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 governorship election in Abia State, Dr Kelechi Anosike, has said Governor Alex Otti performed below average.
Anosike, who spoke to journalists after appearing before the PDP screening committee in Abuja on Thursday, said Otti, who is elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), has shortchanged the people of Abia State.
He said he would not have been in the race if the governor had delivered on his promises.
“The people of Abia State are being short-changed. If the government was doing well, I wouldn’t be in the race.
“I have seen that it was all about media hype and exaggerated performance with nothing on ground, nothing concrete on ground,” he said.
The aspirant who said he is a PhD holder in Property law and Mortgages from the University of Abuja, said Otti scored “about 50 per cent” on short distance roads.”
He promised to launch what he called “Operation Feed Abia, (O-F-A),” assuring that no citizen of the state will go to bed with an empty stomach.
“There is going to be a back-to-farm state policy.
“The Governor will have a farm. Everybody will have a farm to encourage the local peasants and farmers: Operation Feed Abia.
Also, Chief Samson Nnamani, who is an Enugu State governorship aspirant, described the smart school built by Governor Peter Mbah as fake.
Nnamani said Mbah, who left PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), is performing only in the media.
“He is only paying media people; that is his best. The smart school is killing our children. These were fake projects. It is not something that is hidden. The smart schools are collapsing,” he said.
