Ahead of the upcoming primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Thursday met with the House of Assembly aspirants of the state.
During the meeting held at the party secretariat in Ilorin, the governor urged them to remain united and committed to the party regardless of the outcome of the primaries.
The meeting brought together a large number of aspirants, many of them youths, who have expressed interest in contesting legislative seats under the party’s platform.

AbdulRazaq congratulated the aspirants for stepping forward to contribute to the development of the state, describing their participation as a reflection of the party’s vibrancy and growing appeal.
“The unprecedented number of people wanting to contest elections under the APC shows that the party is vibrant, democratic, and loved,” the governor said.
He emphasized that while elective positions are limited, all aspirants should see themselves as winners, noting that their efforts and loyalty would be recognised within the party structure.
The governor also urged them to support the party and its eventual candidates after the primaries, stressing the importance of unity as the election season approaches.
AbdulRazaq further pledged continued engagement with party aspirants to foster understanding and strengthen cohesion ahead of the polls.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as transformative leadership at the national level, adding that the administration’s policies are contributing to development across states.
