Group Alleges Imposition Of Candidate In Okpebholo’s

The Centre for Better Society in Nigeria (CBSN) has raised concern over alleged attempts to impose a candidate ahead of the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC), House of Representatives primary in Okpebholo Federal Constituency, Edo Central Senatorial District of Edo State.

The group warned that any attempt to undermine internal democracy within the APC in the Federal Constituency could threaten party unity and weaken public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.

In a statement jointly signed by the Group President, Vincent Ibhaze and General Secretary, Kennedy Obue, the Centre called on the APC National chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, President Bola Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo to urgently intervene and ensure that the APC conducts a free, fair, credible, and transparent primary election for all aspirants.

The CBSN stressed that democracy must be built on fairness, consultation, inclusiveness, and respect for due process rather than political imposition or coercion.
