Kaduna NYSC Coordinator Reiterates Increase In Feeding Allowance

The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna State, Mrs Efeke Murna Dadaza, has renewed the scheme’s appeal to the state government to increase feeding allowances during orientation and the monthly state stipend for corps members.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the NYSC temporary orientation camp in Government College, Kaduna, Mrs Dadaza said the request was necessary to further enhance corps members’ welfare.

“As we move forward, we respectfully reiterate our earlier request for the augmentation of feeding allowances during orientation and the monthly state stipend to further enhance corps members’ welfare,” she said.

The coordinator commended the corps members for their discipline and resilience throughout the three-week orientation.

She urged them to uphold the values instilled in camp and to serve as worthy ambassadors of the NYSC scheme at their places of primary assignment.

“Wherever you are posted, settle in promptly and strive to make a meaningful contribution to the people and institutions you will serve,” she told the corps members.

She also encouraged them to leave a lasting impact through active participation in Community Development Service projects.

Mrs Dadaza thanked the Kaduna State Government for its hospitality and support, as well as collaborating agencies, camp officials, and support staff for ensuring the success of the exercise.

In a speech during the ceremony, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the NYSC scheme.

He said his government would continue to provide a safe and enabling environment for corps members to serve effectively.

Governor Sani represented by the commissioner of Youth and Sports, Gloria Ibrahim urged the corps members to accept their postings in good faith, noting that the majority would be deployed to rural communities where their services are most needed in health and education.

He also called on employers in both the public and private sectors to receive corps members warmly and provide the necessary support.

The governor encouraged the corps members to take advantage of the post-camp Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme to acquire practical skills that would make them employers of labour during and after service.

He officially declared the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course closed.
