Hakeem Effects Wins Best Makeup Award for ‘Lisabi


 Renowned Nollywood special effects artist, Hakeem Ajibola, better known as  Hakeem Effects, on Saturday won the Best Makeup award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for outstanding work on Lisabi: A Legend Is Born.

Saturday Telegraph reports that Hekeem’s victory highlighted the film’s remarkable transformation effects and detailed character makeup, which played a key role in bringing the historical epic to life.

Hakeem Effects earned praise for delivering visually striking looks that enhanced the storytelling and authenticity of the production.

The Best Makeup category featured several strong contenders from across the Nigerian film industry. Mojisola Imam received a nomination for Behind The Scenes, while Dablaq Artistry was recognised for work on Gingerrr.

Adeola Bamgboye earned two nominations in the category for Abanisete and Labake Olododo, while Hakeem Effects also received an additional nomination for Warlord.

Another nominee was Ruth Harcourt for the film Suky.

The AMVCA continues to spotlight excellence in African entertainment, recognising the technical and creative talents working behind the scenes in film and television.

Hakeem Effects’ latest win further cements a reputation for high-quality special effects and cinematic makeup artistry within Nollywood.
