I’ll Defeat Bala Mohammed’s Imposed Candidate, Says PDP Aspirant

A Bauchi State Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Nyesom Wike-backed People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Usman Adamu has boasted that he would defeat any candidate of the outgoing Governor of the state, Senator Bala Mohammed would be supporting.

Governor Mohammed who has left the PDP to Allied People’s Movement (APM), was until his defection, a member of Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led PDP faction.

Alhaji Adamu who spoke on Saturday after returning his governorship nomination forms, recalled that even Governor Mohammed defeated an incumbent Governor to emerge, “Talk less of defeating a person that was imposed by the Governor. I don’t think that will be a problem in Bauchi.”

The aspirant, however, admitted that power and authority belong to God “and only He decides the future with certainty.”

According to him, he has no godfather, expressing the belief that with his reliance on God, he would be victorious.

“There is God that did for everyone and I will not be an exception. Once there is God, there is opportunity, and it is going to be actualised,” he stated.

Alhaji Adamu said there is no faction in PDP in Bauchi State, adding that the party has a stronghold in the state.

He expressed confidence that he will win the next year’s governorship election, stating that different factions of the party would unite after the primaries, “and we will pose a very great threat to Bauchi’s state government.”
