Nigerian Afrobeats singer and businessman, Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that he doesn’t listen to self-acclaimed African Giant, Burna Boy’s songs in order to keep them from influencing his own creative style.
Speaking on the Afropolitan Podcast, the “Skin Tight” singer claimed that Burna Boy is a performer he truly admires, but had nothing to do with the choice.
According to him, both of them share similar deep vocal tones, making it easy for elements of Burna Boy’s delivery to surface in his own work if he listens too frequently.

He said, “I don’t like listening to Burna Boy’s songs-I’ve said it before. If I listen to so much Burna, you’ll hear it in my music”.
Mr Eazi added that Burna Boy’s style is strong enough to affect his recording process without conscious effort.
Eazi stated that he would rather limit his exposure to the Grammy winner’s discography in order to preserve the unique sound that initially made him famous.
