A faction of contractors Association of Kaduna State has disassociated itself from the protest staged last week by a “few individuals” over non-payment of a N30 billion contract allegedly awarded to them and executed by a firm, Formal Act Legacy Limited, Kaduna.
The association, in a letter dated May 6, signed by its Executive Chairman, Engr. Ahmed Baba, and made available to journalists Wednesday, insisted that it was neither a party to the protest nor authorized it.
According to the let ter addressed to Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, the association asserted that the actions of the individuals who took part in the protest does not represent the official position of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State.
The letter reads: “The attention of the Contractors Association of Kaduna State has been drawn to a protest staged last week by a few individuals claiming non-payment of a N30 billion contract allegedly awarded to and executed by Formal Act Legacy Limited, Kaduna. “The Association was not part of, did not authorize and do not support the said protest.”
