Ugochinyere To ADC, NDC, LP: Stop Attacking Yourselves

Member representing Ideato North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has urged opposition political parties in the country to stop internal bickering and focus on building unity capable of strengthening democratic opposition.

Ugochinyere, who is also the founder of the Action People’s Party (APP), specifically called on the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), and the Labour Party (LP) to end what he described as unnecessary public attacks and confrontations among opposition figures.

In a statement issued in Abuja, the lawmaker described the growing culture of accusations, media attacks and internal wrangling within opposition circles as childish and counterproductive.

He said: “This is not the time for unnecessary fights and media attacks against one another. “Nigerians expect the opposition to provide direction, hope and credible alternatives, not endless quarrels that weaken collective strength.”

According to him, personal interests and ego-driven politics must give way to cooperation, dialogue and strategic alliance-building in the overall interest of the nation.

Ugochinyere stressed that opposition parties should concentrate on issues affecting Nigerians, including insecurity, economic hardship, unemployment and governance challenges, instead of dissipating energy on internal divisions.

He maintained that unity remains the strongest tool for any political movement seeking to inspire confidence among citizens and deepen democratic values. “The people are watching. What Nigerians want to see is maturity, unity and a common purpose. Opposition politics should not become a battlefield of insults and bitterness,” he stated.
