The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, on Thursday declared that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 was guaranteed, citing what he described as the President’s outstanding performance across critical sectors of the economy.
Abbas spoke in Abuja during the submission of Tinubu’s nomination and expression of interest forms at the International Conference Centre (ICC).
According to the Speaker, President Tinubu’s achievements within three years in office had attracted more Nigerians and political stakeholders into the ruling party, including those who were previously sceptical about the APC.
“The performance of Mr President over the last three years has brought about phenomenal development across all sectors in this country,” Abbas said.
He noted that many politicians who doubted the APC during the 2023 elections were now openly identifying with the party because of the administration’s reforms and policies.
“I have no iota of doubt that if there is one single person we can single out in this country today and say with precision, guarantee, and confidence that his election is guaranteed, it is Mr President,” he declared.
The Speaker commended Tinubu’s leadership style, saying the President demonstrated uncommon courage and clarity from the first day in office by confronting the nation’s economic challenges directly.
According to him, unlike many first-time leaders who spend years trying to understand governance, Tinubu immediately identified the country’s key problems and pursued solutions relentlessly.
“The way and manner Mr President has led this country within the last three years gives the impression to many that he had been president of this country before,” Abbas stated.
He added that the ongoing support for Tinubu within the APC signalled the beginning of another successful political outing for both the President and the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Abbas prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and wisdom for the President as he continues to lead the country.
