A prominent aspirant to Okitipupa/Irele federal constituency seat, Bamidele Omosehin, has charged the leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) to place premium on how to be victorious in the forthcoming general elections.
He said the leadership should ensure popular aspirants, who can win the elections, emerge candidates of the party. The APC chieftain stated this yesterday, when speaking on his chances at the party’s primaries after obtaining the nomination and expression of interest forms of the party.
He cautioned that the leadership of the party should be cautious of how candidates are arrived at through adoption of either consensus or direct primaries.
The philanthropist stated that all aspirants should work together to ensure that President Bola Tinubu and APC win massively in the state in the 2027 general elections.
He said: “What our leadership should focus on now is how our party is going to win the general elections come 2027. “All our leaders should place premium on who emerges the candidate of the party and such a person should be popular among their constituents.
“This is important because the people or the electorate would determine who wins the election and that’s the reason utmost care must be taken in chosing our candidates so that we don’t present opportunity for the opposition have an inroad.”
