The battle for Osun 2026 has taken a more confrontational turn as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke clashed openly yesterday over allegations of financial mismanagement, project quality, and sectoral priorities in the state.
The APC campaign team for its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, led the charge, accusing the state government of what it called “reckless spending without visible development impact.”
Speaking at a press briefing in Osogbo, Chairman of the APC Media and Publicity Committee, Remi Omowaiye, said the state had been “mismanaged under the current administration,” insisting that Osun needed urgent fiscal restructuring. “Osun is in a very bad state financially. What we are seeing is spending without development.
There is no commensurate value for the resources being expended,” Omowaiye said. He described Oyebamiji as “the man with the capacity to reset Osun’s economy,” adding that the APC candidate would prioritise industrial development, agriculture and power sector reforms.
