Resilient Q1 2026 Financial Results

Beta Glass Plc reported a resilient performance for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, maintaining profitability and strengthening its balance sheet despite a decline in revenue and earnings.

The company’s unaudited interim results showed that total equity rose to N104.12bn as at March 31, 2026, from N96.27bn at the end of 2025, reflecting a stronger financial position.

However, revenue from contracts with customers declined to N37.54bn in Q1 2026 from N41.16bn in the corresponding period of 2025. Gross profit fell to N13.70bn from N16.01bn, while operating profit dropped to N12.78bn from N15.05bn.

Profit before tax stood at N11.89bn, compared to N15.22bn a year earlier. Profit after tax declined by 21.48 per cent to N7.85bn from N9.99bn in Q1 2025, while earnings per share fell to N13.08 from N16.66.

Despite the declines, the company remained profitable, underpinned by operational discipline and improved financial structure.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Beta Glass Plc, Alex Gendis, said, “Our first quarter performance reflects the resilience of Beta Glass and the strength of our operating model. Despite a challenging and unpredictable environment, we sustained profitability and maintained a strong balance sheet. Our Q1 2026 performance was in line with our expectations.

“Our Q1 2026 performance versus Q1 2025 is primarily driven by stabilisation in customer ordering patterns versus the same period last year, where there was significant stock build-up activity by a few key clients. Our focus remains on driving operational efficiency, deepening customer partnerships, and positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth.

“The team has executed with discipline to secure a robust raw material and inventory pipeline, ensuring clear visibility and continuity of supply to our valued customers amid ongoing global supply chain uncertainty and cost pressures.”

The unaudited interim financial statements for the three months ended March 31, 2026, are available on the company’s website.

Beta Glass Plc manufactures glass packaging solutions for the beverage, pharmaceutical, and food industries in West and Central Africa.
