President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Murtala Sule Garo on his appointment as Deputy Governor of Kano State following his swearing-in.
Garo was nominated by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to fill the vacancy created after the resignation of Aminu Abdulsalam, which followed the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President commended Governor Yusuf for the appointment, noting that it strengthens unity within the APC in Kano State.

Garo, 48, has previously served as Chairman of Kabo Local Government and as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under former governor Abdullahi Ganduje. He was also the APC governorship running mate in the 2023 elections.
Tinubu urged stakeholders to support the new deputy governor and work collectively to advance development in the state, expressing confidence in Garo’s capacity to deliver in his new role.
