Odunmbaku Graduates 150 Ojodu Youths In Digital Skills Training


One hundred and fifty Ojodu youths graduated recently from the Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) digital skills training.

The graduates were trained in digital literacy, social media and digital marketing; cloud computing, cyber security awareness, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence.

The training was conducted both physically and virtually. Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the council chairman, Hon. David Odunmbaku, described the training as a ‘testament to the power of knowledge, and a significant milestone in our collective journey towards a digitally empowered future.’

He told the graduates that the training has armed them with the necessary tools to navigate and dominate the 4th industrial revolution, which are digital skills.

The chairman noted that Umar Abdullahi A renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Umar Ajiya Isa, popularly known as Ajiyan Sokoto, has formally declared his intention to contest the Sokoto East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alhaji Isa, popularly known as Ajiyan Sokoto, made the declaration in a statement issued by the Ajiyan Sokoto Coordination Committee in Support of APC.

The declaration follows what was described as sustained calls from party leaders, political associates, and constituents across the district’s eight local government areas, urging him to enter the race.

The statement, signed by retired Permanent Secretary Nasiru Yahaya Isa, who chairs the coordination committee, called on supporters and stakeholders to avoid divisive politics and instead embrace peaceful, issue-based engagement ahead of the 2027 polls.

“Ajiyan Sokoto has been the subject of sustained calls from the people of Sokoto East Senatorial District to offer himself for service at the National Assembly as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Troops of the 17 Brigade in Katsina have neutralised four suspected terrorists during combat along the Turare– Yantumaki Road in the state.

This is contained in a statement in Katsina on Saturday by Dr Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for International Security and Home Affairs.

Mu’azu listed items rethe training curriculum tagged ‘Building Blocks of Future’ was designed to help the graduates keep up with the global trend in the digital world and create job opportunities for them.

Odunmbaku added that while past training focused on basic computer appreciation, the current training focuses on specialisation and how to monetise the internet and secure it.

Under his HEYS Reloaded agenda, Odunmbaku said that his administration had trained 2,631 primary and 2,168 secondary school pupils in digital skills, upgraded the council’s ICT centre at Sogunro into a modern information technology, upgraded the council’s official website,

built Ojodu Works App, gave out 40 laptops to past graduates of digital skills, launched a digital platform code named Electronic Medical Records, EMR, which allows residents to make use of any of Public Health Centres within the council area.
