Shinkafi’s APC Group Endorses Tinubu, Gov Lawal 2nd Term Bid

The Shinkafi Democratic Front (SDF) under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its unreserved support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State’s second-term ambitions come 2027 general elections.

Making a public declaration on Wednesday, the leader of the SDF, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, said he abdicated his gubernatorial ambition come 2027 following his satisfaction with the level Governor Lawal has taken the state up to, especially in the area of fights against security challenges in the state.

“I am satisfied with the contributions paid by Governor Dauda Lawal in the fight against insecurity embarked upon by the federal government. The Governor has procured fifty armoured tanks and drones in large numbers that, if utilised, would liberate Zamfara from banditry.

“At this point, I must also commend the efforts of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, who complemented Governor Lawal’s policy with the provision of fourteen armoured tanks to be stationed at all fourteen local government areas of the state”.

“I am announcing to you that sooner, the lingering security challenges in Zamfara State, which include banditry, kidnapping and other heinous crimes, will end.

“At a closed-door meeting with Governor Lawal and former governors, as well as all elected members of the national assemblies in the state, we are all satisfied that the Zamfara State economy will soon revive to facilitate job creation for our youths”, Shinkafi has emphasised.

It could be recalled that Governor Lawal has, alongside all members of his cabinet, recently defected to APC, the development that diminished opposition in the state by bringing all political icons under one umbrella with common targets.
