Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid Are My Sources Of Inspiration


Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that some of the musicians who influence her are Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.

The mother of one, who spoke in a Rolling Stone Africa interview, further disclosed that she gets musical inspiration from a variety of sources, including her contemporaries.

According to Tiwa Savage, jazz music, American singer Brandy, Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are her sources of musical inspiration, adding that she ultimately looks up to God.

“I am inspired by so many people. Musically, I am inspired by Brandy…I also listento Jazz… I am inspired by my peers,” she said.

“You know, Wiz, Burna, David. You know, everybody. I am inspired by so many people but I look up to God.”

New Telegraph recalls that Savage had once openly denounced the term “Big 3,” which is frequently used to characterize Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as Nigeria’s top international music exporters.

She claimed in 2025 that the phrase ignores prominent female Afrobeats artists.

The  singer noted that some artists make more money and have more means for promotion, which affects how frequently their music is heard.

She added that it was unjust to talk about a top three without bringing up Tems.
