Shekarau, N’West PDP Chairman, Hayatu Joins APC

Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, former Kano State Governor, the Northwest People Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Senator Bello Hayatu Gwarzo and hundreds of their supporters have finally decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shekarau said, “We weighed several options after realising that PDP have permanently crashed out as a Political Party, and APC’s decisions came as a fifth option that we agreed to adopt”.

Speaking while accepting the positions of the Shura Council, his Elders committee, Board members, and all others that matter in his movement, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, said the decision to go to APC is the overwhelming one supported by everybody.

“We have fervently prayed, deliberated on our movements and made serious contacts, talked to everybody, and we have finally accepted and agreed to Decamps to APC, which is today the best Party that cares for Nigerians”.

Mallam Shekarau explained that on their journey out of PDP, they have looked at all the parties one after the other. ADC, which came just two months ago, cannot be trusted as a Party to go to, for several reasons.

“We cannot rely on ADC, a party filled with people of personal interests, a party struggling to get its feet, a party facing huge legal problems and a Party that is having its leaders struggling for positions”.

Bello Hayyu Gwarzo, the Northwest PDP Chairman, who decamped alongside Shekarau, hints that the recent bye elections done in Ekiti and Ondo States without PDP not faring well clearly shows that the Party has permanently fallen into a deep ditch.

He said, “For the fact that PDP during the bye elections could not even make INEC lists and couldn’t participate in the conduct shows that continuing to stay in it is a risk, and we decided that decamping is the best option”.

“So after that we weighed all the Nigerian parties, and we finally arrived at APC, together with Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and all others, we are taking this last decision”.
