Nasarawa 2027: Ex-NASENI Boss Insists On Primaries Despite Wadada’s Endorsement By Gov Sule


A former Executive Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and 2027 governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State, Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna, an Engineer, yesterday said he will participate in the APC Governorship Primaries in the State.

He said he will contest for the governorship ticket against Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, who has been endorsed by the governor. He explained that Governor Abdullahi Sule has done so much for the development of the state and he has the needed experience to take over from him and build on his legacies.

“We pray that God supports him and make him to complete all the projects he has started for the benefits of the people of Nasarawa State. Indeed, his actions are worthy of emulation.”

He spoke yesterday at his campaign office in Keffi during a consultation meeting organized by the committee on Contact and Mobilization of his campaign team with the various leaders of the support groups to take a decision on the recent political development in the state.

Governor Sule had on the April 16, announced Senator Wadada as his preferred choice for the APC Governorship ticket in Nasarawa State, and urged his supporters and all government appointees to mobilise votes for Senator Wadada to emerge victorious at the primaries.

Prof Haruna said, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has contributed a lot to what he achieved in NASENI and his success story won’t be complete without mentioning him “When he was not the president and we ran into hitches, for over 34 years after establishment of NASENI, the statutory funding was not realized and we developed a template.

We achieved progress in commencement of assignments and collection of the NASENI industrial Levy as one of the statutory funds “A new chairman of Federal Inland Revenue, Tunde Fowler, was appointed and he refused to allow us access to funds.

We went to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was not even contesting in his house in Lagos, and on his instructions, the Chairman listened to us and the industrial Levy was commenced.

“So, if you are celebrating our achievements in NASENI, please remember the contribution of President Tinubu” he said The University don said, as chairman of the APC Governorship Aspirants Forum in Nasarawa West Senatorial district, they all agreed and assured the governor that whoever he picks the ticket among them, will receive their support.

He said little did he know that the governor will go for one who is not qualified based on the standard he set. He explained further that before the announcement of the choice of Wadada, Governor Sule had spoken in different fora on the criteria of the person he wants as his successor.
