Matawalle Pledges Guber Nomination Form For Gov Lawal

The Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has pledged to purchase a gubernatorial nomination form on the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Governor Dauda Lawal to contest for the 2027 Guber race on the platform of the APC in the state.

Matawalle made the declaration on Saturday during a stakeholders meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Government House, Gusau, that witnessed the presence of all former governors and their deputies, former Speakers of the House of Assembly of the state and serving members of the national assemblies.

Earlier, Governor Lawal said the aim of organising the meeting is beyond politics, but a devotion to rescue the state across all walks of life, with the plans to support fights against security challenges as a priority before anything else.

“We are now all one on the platform of the APC to collectively serve in common, the best interest of the good people of the state; there is no opposition in whatever way in the state; we are all from Zamfara State, our only home, where no one can address its problems apart from us.

“Before moving down here before you, we briefly discussed and agreed to pay our contributions to ensure Zamfara State is liberated from the hands of criminals with a view to gaining the opportunity to consolidate the developmental projects like the International Airport Gusau and many economically-driven projects across the 14 local government areas of the state”, Governor Lawal has stressed.

All former governors have jointly spoken in the best interest of peace and unity among the teeming members of the APC and the fight for the restoration of normalcy in the state before the 2027 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, while addressing thousands of his supporters at Garba Nadama Conference Hall, Jubril Bala Yakubu state Secretariat, called for unreserved support for Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration and his ambition for a second tenure come 2027.

“I actually mean total support for Governor Dauda Lawal, because we are now all one, and we are really satisfied with what he has been doing in moving the state forward, not just because he defected to the APC, but we learned Zamfara State is fast developing to the expected level”, Matawalle has stated.
