Kebbi Govt Launch 50 Buses To Ease Transportation Hardship


Kebbi State Government, has launched 50 newly 18 seater buses for mass transit in the state and beyond

The buses ware Commissioned at the newly constructed Ultra Modern Park, Birnin Kebbi by the State Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Alhaji Hayatuddeen Bawa.

According to the Commissioner, the buses were meant to ease the transportation hardship being experienced by the people of the state especially during Long journeys as the state was the only one in the northwest that did not have Mass Transit Buses.

He commended the effort of the state Governor for purchasing the vehicles and urged the beneficiaries to use them judiciously so that many more would be provided.

The commissioner also urged the drivers to drive with care and professionalism to avoid overloading, reckless driving, and speeding as well as to ensure good maintenance and services of the vehicles.

Earlier, in his contribution, the Chairman of the National Association of Transport Owners NATO, Kebbi State branch, Alhaji Ali Aliyu, appreciated the effort of the state government under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris for providing 50 newly 18-seater buses for transportation within and outside the state.

In his remark, the Deputy Corps Commandant Operations of the Federal Road Safety, Kebbi state command, DCC Musa Danladi said the drivers were carefully selected and tested before being given the keys of the vehicles, adding that they were warned to abide by the traffic rules and regulations.
