APC Campaign Council Meets Tinubu, Targets 500,000 Votes For Oyebanji

The Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has reaffirmed the readiness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure a landslide victory in the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election.

Bamidele, who chairs the APC Governorship Election Campaign Council for the re-election of the incumbent Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, met with President Bola Tinubu alongside members of the campaign team at the State House in Abuja to brief him on preparations ahead of the campaign kickoff.

According to him, the meeting focused on the council’s strategy, structure, and ongoing mobilisation efforts as the party intensifies plans for the June 20, 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Bamidele stated that the APC is targeting an overwhelming victory across all 177 wards in the state, with a projected vote count of not less than 500,000 votes for Governor Oyebanji.

He attributed the party’s confidence to the governor’s performance over the past three years, citing achievements in governance and development as key factors expected to drive voter support.

The Senate leader added that a strong showing in the Ekiti election would further strengthen the APC’s position ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
