Olubadan Endorses Establishment Of Sports School In Ibadan


The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1), has endorsed the establishment of the Sports School in Ibadan.

This is contained in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Olugbemiga, on Tuesday, April 21.

According to the statement, the endorsement was given during the courtesy visit paid to the paramount ruler at his palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday by the Chairman,  former Ibadan Footballers Association (EIPFA), Mr Temitope Obideyi, after the presentation of an award of recognition to the monarch for his exemplary and unwavering support for youth and sports development in Ibadan

“I am overwhelmed by this award of recognition, particularly for my efforts for the youth and sports development”, the monarch responded while assuring the Chairman of EIPFA that he would, by the grace of God, be at the match between Ex-Ibadan Professional and Ex-Super Eagles on May 31st 2026 at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of EIPFA, Mr Temitope Bideyi, expressed the gratitude of his Association for the warm reception accorded to them by His Imperial Majesty.

According to him, the purported establishment of the Sports School in Ibadan had been approved by the Oyo State Ministry of Education principally for the development and empowerment of talented youths.

The one-day Sports fiesta of May 31st 2026 at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, according to Obideyi, aims at promoting sports development, re-union among sports heroes, foster unity, reconnect sports stars and creating a platform where opinions can be shared on welfare of sport men and women, as well as, future progress of sporting activities not only in Ibadan but Nigeria as a whole.

Gracing the award presentation was the former President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes ( CCII), Chief Bayo Oyero.
