The House of Representatives on Tuesday witnessed a fresh wave of defections as eight sitting lawmakers switched political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The affected lawmakers cut across multiple states and political parties.
Among those who defected is Abubakar Abdul Buba from Niger State, who moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Also from Kebbi State, Sani Yakubu Noma defected from the PDP to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while Ibrahim Mohammed Bunza moved from PDP to APC.
In Osun State, Mudashiru Alani and Olusoji Adetunji both defected from the PDP to the Accord Party.
From Lagos State, Thaddeus Attah left the Labour Party Nigeria (LP) for the ADC.
Meanwhile, Bashir Usman Zubairu from Kaduna State defected from the APC to ADC, while David Abel Fouh of Taraba State moved from the APC to the PDP.
The defections were announced during plenary in the Green Chamber as lawmakers reposition ahead of party primaries for the 2027 elections.
