Idahosa Hails Okpebholo, Oshiomhole, Others Amid Mother’s Demise

Hon. Dennis Idahosa, deputy governor of Edo State, has appreciated the support shown to him and his family by Governor Monday Okpebholo, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and the leadership of the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the death of his mother.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, the Deputy Governor, also thanked members of the State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and former governor of the state, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, for condoling with the family.

He noted that the support and solidarity shown by these people and other individuals and organisations, too numerous to mention, have kept him and his family strong at this critical time.

Idahosa emphasised that even at 95 years, he has always thought that his mother would still be with him for a long time to come, stressing that he was not only saddened by her demise, but he was also broken, as well as he was very close to her.

“I am indeed grateful to you all for this support and solidarity. I thank you on behalf of my family for these condolence visits. We pray that God will use this opportunity to bring us closer and better,” he stated.

Meanwhile, during his visit, Chief Lucky Igbinedion extolled Idahosa for taking good care of their mother before her death.

According to him, “she lived a very successful life, which called for celebration. She left successful children behind.”

Also, members of the Sand Quarry Owners Association of Edo State, led by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Osakpamwan Eriyo and Chairman of the Association, Comrade Omoregbe Omoregie, were also present to pay their condolences.

Speaking on behalf of the association, Osa Omo-Amadasun said Mama living up to 95 years was proof that the children took good care of her. Omo-Amadasun prayed for her children to live beyond the age of 95 years.

Similarly, Comrade Osaro Aigbekaen, Chairman of the Edo State Tipper Drivers Association, who led other members on a condolence visit, noted that the late mother of the deputy governor was a mother to all.

On their part, the accredited Waste Managers Association of Edo State, led by its Chairman, Ahmed Aruna, pledged their support and assistance in areas of need, especially at this moment of grief.

In the same vein, members of the Arewa APC, Edo State Chapter, led by Alhaji Mansur Ibrahim, also expressed their grief and pleaded with the family to be strong.
