SDP State Chairmen Warn Trouble Makers

The Forum of Social Democratic Party (SDP) State Chairmen has said it will no longer tolerate the spread of falsehoods and calculated attempts to destabilise the party by some individuals.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Friday, the forum said that its attention has been drawn to the “Baseless and misleading claims by a purported officer of the party, one Mr Rufus Aiyenigba who continues to peddle false narrative that Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam was not reinstated as the National Chairman of the SDP and that the illegal Sadiq Abubakar Gombe remains in office”

Hon. Danlami Musa, Secretary, SDP Forum of State Chairmen and the Nasarawa State SDP chairman, who signed the statement, said the claim was not “Only false but a blatant distortion of a clear and settled judicial pronouncement.

“Let it be stated without ambiguity that the Court of Appeal has spoken clearly, decisively, and finally.

“In a unanimous judgment delivered on 27th March, 2026, in Suit Nos. CA/ABJ/CV/126/2026 and CA/ABJ/CV/127/2026, the appellate court completely dismantled the defective and fraudulent foundation upon which the earlier Federal High Court judgment stood, set that judgment aside in its entirety, and reaffirmed Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam (Makama Tilde) as the legitimate National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party while unequivocally removing Sadiq Abubakar Gombe from his illegal position.

“What is even more alarming is the extent of judicial misrepresentation uncovered, where certain actors, including Prince Adebayo Adewole and his collaborators, relied on a phantom judgment that never existed to mislead the lower court into delivering a perverse ruling, an act which goes beyond politics and strikes at the very heart of the integrity of the judiciary and democratic order”.

The forum called on relevant security and law enforcement agencies to immediately investigate and bring to justice all individuals involved in this calculated judicial deception, as the era of manipulating the courts for selfish political ambition must come to an end.

The statement said, the campaign of misinformation is dead on arrival and stands exposed as either a product of gross ignorance of the law or a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.

Ii said, “It is particularly troubling that an individual who parades himself as an officer of the party would, after the clear and unambiguous judgment of the Court of Appeal, still open his mouth to claim that Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam was not reinstated and that an illegally removed individual remains in office.

“Such statements raise serious questions about his capacity to properly read and comprehend a straightforward judicial pronouncement, leaving Nigerians to wonder whether this persistent falsehood is driven by ignorance or a willful refusal to accept the truth.

“Let this serve as a final warning that any further attempt to distort the judgment of the Court of Appeal or to impersonate authority within the SDP will be met with immediate legal consequences.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Federal High Court judgment delivered on 19th January, 2026, has been completely nullified for want of jurisdiction and for being manifestly perverse, and therefore holds no weight, no authority, and no relevance whatsoever”, the statement said.

It added that the SDP is not a platform for impostors, opportunists, or political merchants of confusion but a party governed by law, order, and legitimacy, adding that the truth has prevailed, the law has taken its full course, and no amount of noise, propaganda, or desperation can overturn a settled judgment of a superior court.
