On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu met with the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 governorship candidate in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin, at his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The APC chieftain, who confirmed the meeting with President Tinubu in a post shared on his official social media handles on Friday, April 10.

Although details of Thursday’s meeting were not made public, party sources said the engagements may not be unconnected with ongoing consultations within the APC on its strategy in Oyo State.

New Telegraph reports that the meeting comes amid growing speculations over the party’s possible direction ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.

According to reports. Another APC leader, Sharafadeen Alli, is being considered as a potential governorship candidate. Alli had also met with the President earlier.

Folarin remains a key figure in the party, having represented Oyo Central in the Senate and contested the governorship election on the APC platform in 2023.
