An herbalist, Ifayomi Oba Edu Jogbodo Orunmila has been exonerated of any role in the death of the 22-year-old Afrofuji musician, Afeez Adesina, better known as Destiny Boy.
New Telegraph reports that Ifayomi was exonerated after the autopsy into Destiny Boy’s death revealed drug abuse as the cause of his tragic passing.
According to the Ogun state Command, who verified the autopsy, dangerous levels of tramadol, its metabolites, and methamphetamine were discovered in the deceased’s system during the autopsy, which was performed by a consultant anatomic pathologist.

The official date of death was established to be January 17, 2026, and the study determined that aspiration pneumonitis arising from the intake of these poisonous substances was the cause of death.
After his Fuji-style rendition of Davido’s song “If” went viral in 2019, Afeez Adesina became well-known. Later, he put out songs like “Lamba,” “One Transaction,” “Gbese,” “Billion Dollar,” “Mio Gbonkankan,” and “Lowkey.”
The circumstances surrounding his death on January 17, 2026, caused a great deal of public anxiety and prompted requests for an investigation. Iremide, his partner, and their November 2024-born child survive him.
