The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Comrade Issa Aremu, have declared their full supports for Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf’s second term ambition.
They passed the votes of confidence on Governor Yusuf section and term bid, during the payment of the sixth (6) batch of gratuities and death benefits totaling N5 billion and the investiture of Governor’s Yusuf as a Fellow of the MINILS, held at the Government House, Kano.
They noted that Governor Yusuf’s concern for human welfare and his execution of people-oriented projects across the state represent the highest expectations electorates have from their leaders and as such he should be given more chances to do more.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the APC National Chairman, expressed deep appreciation for the Governor’s positive impacts on the lives of the citizenry, insisting that his open positive jobs represent that of a Worthy Leader.
Prof. Yilwatda assured Governor Yusuf of full support for his re-election, as well as the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On his part, Comrade Aremu reiterated that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its affiliate unions would ensure that state civil servants, pensioners, and their families reciprocate Governor Yusuf’s labour-friendly policies during the 2027 General Elections.
He then conferred the Fellowship of the Institute upon the Governor in recognition of his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
Responding, Governor Yusuf assured the APC leadership that he, his political associates, and the people of Kano State would work tirelessly to ensure the return of President Tinubu for a second term.
On Fellowship investiture, Governor Yusuf stated: “I am deeply honoured to receive the National Award for the Fellowship of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS).
” I sincerely appreciate the leadership of the Institute and its Director-General, Comrade Issa Aremu, for finding me worthy of this recognition and for the confidence reposed in me.
“I dedicate this award to all comrades and the good people of our state. It will undoubtedly inspire me to redouble my efforts in promoting good governance and delivering meaningful development for our citizens,” the Governor concluded.
During the ceremony, Alhaji Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, a close political associate of the Governor and a Public Relations expert, read the citation prior to the formal conferment of the Fellowship Award.
Meanwhile, recipients of the gratuity and death benefits expressed appreciation to the governor for saving them from financial hardship.
One recipient, a retiree who expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf, said she received an instant payment of N7 million despite her account balance being less than N1,000.
