Why I Cannot Date An Actor

Nollywood actress Teniola Aladese has revealed that she would rather have romantic relationships with directors or producers than with other performers.

Speaking in an interview with the “I Said What I Said” podcast, Aladese called the dating environment in Lagos “Stressful” and “a very big mess,” noting that direct messages are frequently inundated with suitors.

Despite this, she stated that she has generally had good dating experiences, adding, “I have never had a terrible date.”

Aladese explained that she often knows after the first meeting if a relationship will not work, saying, “It is just that after the first date, I already know that you will never see me again.”

After switching from movie production management to acting, the actress became well-known for her performance in the Africa Magic drama series Jemeji and took home the Trailblazer Award at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

“I don’t want to date an actor,” she said, emphasising her preference for dating people in influential positions within the industry.

The higher levels, such as directors and producers, are fine with me, but actors are not. Aladese gave no additional justifications for this choice.
