Former Bayern Munich midfielder, Dietmar Hamann, has advised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to consider a move to the English Premier League (EPL) if he decides to leave Galatasaray.
New Telegraph recalls that Osimhen raised eyebrows last summer when he opted to join the Turkish Süper Lig champions, despite attracting interest from several elite European clubs.
Teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich were all linked with the prolific forward, but Galatasaray ultimately secured his signature.
Since arriving in Istanbul, Osimhen has delivered outstanding performances, registering 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances. His impact has been pivotal, helping Galatasaray reach the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League—a milestone not achieved by a Turkish club in nearly a decade.
Despite his success, speculation over a potential departure persists, with several top sides still monitoring his situation. Hamann, who enjoyed spells at clubs like Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, is among those who believe the Premier League would be the ideal next step for the Nigerian striker.

The former midfielder suggested the Nigerian striker would represent a clear upgrade on Nick Woltemade, who has struggled to make a strong impact since arriving at the club.
Hamann also noted that while Liverpool could have been a suitable destination, their current attacking options—including Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak—make such a move less practical.
“I was genuinely surprised Osimhen moved to Turkey, especially with the number of Premier League clubs needing a top striker last summer,” Hamann said.
“He’s an exceptional talent, and Galatasaray’s strong performances are largely down to his influence. I enjoy watching him, and I’m convinced he would elevate any team in England.”
He added that Liverpool’s attacking depth could limit opportunities, but pointed to Newcastle as a more suitable option.
“With his pace, strength, and finishing ability, he would be a perfect fit—especially if Newcastle decide to move on from Woltemade,” he explained.
As things stand, any club hoping to sign Osimhen would likely need to meet a fee in excess of €100 million, making a transfer this summer unlikely.
However, if he maintains his impressive form, speculation surrounding his future is expected to intensify heading into next season.
