APC Appoints Ex-PDP Chieftains As Campaign DGs


The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly announced the campaign team for the forthcoming governorship election.

According to the party, the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon Wole Oke, was appointed the overall campaign Director General for the APC candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.

Also, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, was appointed as the Osun Central Senatorial District campaign Director General, while a former gubernatorial aspirant, Prince Dotun Babayemi, will lead the campaign in Osun West.

Similarly, a Senatorial aspirant, Mr Thomas Ogungbange, was appointed as the campaign Director General for Osun East.

The four newly appointed DGs were former members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Wole Oke, who is serving his fifth term at the House of Representatives, defected to the APC in April 2025.

Also, Babayemi, a former gubernatorial aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, left the party for the APC in May 2024.

Prince Adeleke, popularly known as Banik, was also a former member of the PDP before decamping to the Action Congress of Nigeria in 2011.
