Vunobolki Joins Adamawa Governorship Race

As the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across the country, Chief Morris Vunobolki has formally announced his intention to contest for the Adamawa State governorship seat.

Speaking on Tuesday, April 7, Vunobolki emphasised the need for purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and accelerated development across all sectors of the state.

He highlighted key priority areas, including revitalisation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery, and youth empowerment, noting that Adamawa possesses vast human and natural resources that must be effectively harnessed.

He also called for unity within the APC, urging party members to work collectively to strengthen the party’s chances in the upcoming elections.

According to him, only a united front can ensure victory and bring about the desired transformation in the state.

The declaration, marked by high energy and visible unity among All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, signals strong early momentum for the aspirant ahead of the party primaries.

Chief Morris Vunobolki’s declaration took place at the Yobi Conference Centre, along Army Barracks Road in Jimeta–Yola.

The venue witnessed a significant gathering of party faithful, political associates, traditional stakeholders, youth groups, and supporters from across the state.

Director-General of the Vunombolki Campaign Team, Hon. Abba Girei, urged party faithful to throw their full weight behind Vunombolki when the primaries commence, describing him as the candidate best positioned to consolidate existing gains and lead the state to greater heights.

Addressing the crowd, Vunobolki pledged continuity, vowing to sustain and build on the developmental strides recorded under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.

He assured supporters that his leadership would focus on strengthening progress, deepening infrastructure, and improving the welfare of the people.

With widespread backing already evident, Vonombolki’s entry into the race is already reshaping the political landscape, setting the stage for a keenly contested primary

Political observers say Vunobolki’s entry into the race introduces a new dynamic into the contest, particularly within the APC, where the battle for the party’s ticket is expected to be keenly contested among several aspirants.

Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism over his candidacy, describing him as a seasoned leader with the capacity to drive development and provide effective governance.

However, analysts noted that the road to securing the APC ticket will require strategic alliances, grassroots mobilisation, and strong political backing.

With this latest development, the race toward the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State is gradually taking shape, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and closely watched political contest.
