Nigerian ICT company ipNX has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender inclusion in the technology sector through a series of initiatives aimed at empowering women and inspiring young girls to pursue careers in science and technology.
The programmes, organised to commemorate the recent International Women’s Day 2026, align with the global theme, ‘Give to Gain’, and were designed to promote diversity, mentorship, and access to opportunities within Nigeria’s growing digital ecosystem.
As part of its community outreach, ipNX paid a courtesy visit to Victoria Island Senior Secondary School in Lagos, where it hosted an interactive session encouraging female students to explore opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The engagement provided practical career guidance, exposure to technology pathways, and motivational discussions intended to help students envision futures within the tech industry.
The school is also a beneficiary of ipNX’s corporate social responsibility initiative, which provides free broadband internet connectivity to improve access to digital resources and enhance learning outcomes.
Speaking during the session, Account Manager at ipNX Business, Mary Falade, emphasised the importance of early exposure and mentorship in addressing the gender gap in technology. She noted that empowering young girls today is essential to building a more inclusive and innovative digital future.
“When you give yourself to learning, discipline, and growth, you gain opportunities, confidence, and a future without limits. Anything is possible if you believe in yourself,” she told the students.
Beyond the physical outreach, the company also hosted a virtual webinar to deepen conversations around women’s leadership in technology. The session featured Dr Nadu Denloye, a prominent technology leader and former Group Managing Director of Telnet Nigeria Limited, as the keynote speaker.
In her presentation titled ‘Beyond Inclusion: Women Building Influence, Driving Impact and Accelerating Growth’, Denloye shared insights from her professional journey while highlighting the evolving role of women in shaping Africa’s digital economy. She encouraged participants to embrace resilience, leadership, and collaboration as key drivers of growth and influence within the tech ecosystem.
Commenting on the company’s IWD activities, Group Executive Director, Corporate Services at ipNX, Folashade Efiong-Bassey, said the organisation remains committed to creating pathways that enable women and girls to thrive in STEM-related careers.
“Our efforts are focused on providing access, opportunities, and the right support systems to help women build meaningful careers in the digital economy,” she said. “By championing equal opportunities and amplifying the achievements of women in technology, we are contributing to a future where more women can participate, lead, and succeed.”
According to the company, the initiatives reflect ipNX’s broader vision of fostering digital inclusion while building a people-driven and innovative organisation. Through mentorship, advocacy, and strategic engagements, the firm said it aims to continue supporting a more diverse and inclusive technology ecosystem in Nigeria and across Africa.
