Kano APC 2023 Guber Candidate, Gawuna  Defects To ADC

The Kano State All Progressive Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Nasiru Gawuna, has formally decamped from the Party.

Gawuna, in a resignation letter dated March 29, 2026, and addressed to the APC Chairman in Gawuna Ward, Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, said his decision to leave the party was “Voluntary and personal.”

“I hereby formally resign my membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective March 29, 2026,” the letter read in part.

Nasiru Gawuna has been quoted on several occasions, crying that he was discarded by the Government of Bola Tinubu even after winning the 2023 elections.

He and his Deputy Governor running mate, Murtala Sule Garo, were not given any substantial appointments by the Government living them to wallow in near destitution.

However, lately Gawuna was appointed Head of the Bayero University governing Council, and the appointment was later replaced with the Chairman board Federal Mortgage Bank.

In recent times, Nasiru Gawuna was seen hobnobbing with Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso after holding several meetings and the subsequent meeting of his supporters with the same Kwankwaso.

Although after resigning, Gawuna was not clear about his next line of actions but available reports have it that he is heading to ADC.
