OneDosh Simplifies Cross-Border Payments for Remote Workers

A growing number of Nigerian professionals are turning to fintech solutions like OneDosh to streamline cross-border payments and manage international income, the company said in a statement.

The global shift to remote work, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has created unprecedented opportunities for professionals to work with companies across borders. But for many in Nigeria, receiving payments from abroad and using them locally remains slow, unpredictable, and costly. OneDosh aims to bridge that gap by providing tools that enable workers to receive, manage, and spend income without the delays and friction of traditional banking systems.

Chioma, a social media manager with clients in the United States and the United Kingdom, said she often faced weeks-long delays with wire transfers. “Before OneDosh, waiting for payments disrupted my financial planning. Now I receive my earnings in minutes through stablecoins, which I can convert or save as I choose,” she said.

Tunde, a creative professional, highlighted the difficulty of paying for international subscriptions with local cards. “The OneDosh Visa card has made it seamless to pay for essential tools like design software and cloud services,” he said.

For freelance writer Blessing, currency volatility was a constant concern. “Previously, I converted all my earnings to naira immediately and often at unfavourable rates. OneDosh allows me to hold my income in dollars and convert incrementally, which helps me maximise my earnings,” she said.

Emeka, a tech professional employed by a Canadian company, said OneDosh also helps him support his family more efficiently. “Transferring money to relatives used to be stressful and slow. Now it’s quick and reliable, which makes a big difference,” he said.

OneDosh said that despite the growing remote workforce in Nigeria, professionals still face systemic barriers such as delayed or blocked international payments, unpredictable transaction failures, high conversion costs, and limited access to global spending tools.

“Our goal is to redefine how Nigerian remote workers interact with global income, making it faster, more flexible, and more accessible,” the company said.

As remote work continues to shape the future of employment, platforms like OneDosh are increasingly critical in helping professionals fully participate in the global economy.
