XLCreativeHub Opens Entries for Screenwriting Contest

XLCreativeHub has invited screenwriters and storytellers to submit synopses of their original feature-length film scripts for its Screenwriting Competition and Creator Residency.

The organisation announced the call for entries on its website, stating that submissions would close on March 16, 2026.

The organisers disclosed that judges would review entries between March 17 and March 20, after which six finalists would emerge. According to the statement, the finalists will be announced on 20 March during a live broadcast on the hub’s YouTube channel.

The organisers named the judging panel as Halima Odiegwu, Emil Guruba, and Kehinde Joseph, stating that the shortlisted finalists would participate in a screenwriting residency in Abuja from March 22 to March 28.

The organisation explained that public voting for the winner would begin on March 28 and end on April 6, and the overall winner would be announced on April 7, 2026.

The organisers encouraged creatives to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the programme as a platform for discovering and developing new storytelling talent, stating, “We are pleased to invite screenwriters and storytellers to submit a synopsis of their original feature-length film script for consideration in the prestigious XLCreativeHub Screenwriting Competition and Creator Residency.

If you have a powerful story and the vision to bring it to life on screen, this is your chance to be discovered, developed, and celebrated.”

The statement added that the programme would provide participants with the opportunity to transform their scripts into produced films while competing for industry opportunities: “This highly competitive programme offers a rare opportunity to turn your script into a produced film while competing for a professional film writing contract, a chance to win a film production deal and shared royalties.”

XLCreativeHub explained that a team of professional screenwriters and industry specialists would select only six finalists for the competition. It added that the finalists would undergo a one-week creator residency, during which the judges would mentor them and support the development of their scripts.

“At the end of the residency, each finalist will produce a movie script from which a trailer will be created. The general public will then preview the trailers and vote for their favourite script. The finalist with the highest votes will be declared the winner,” the statement added.

The hub urged interested creatives to submit their synopses and take the next step toward transforming their ideas into reality.
