MoMo PSB & SMEDAN Partner for SME Digitalisation in Nigeria

MoMo PSB, the fintech arm of MTN Nigeria, has entered a strategic partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria to provide digital and financial tools aimed at helping small and medium-sized enterprises run operations more efficiently and scale sustainably.

The deal, formalised in Lagos on Wednesday, will allow registered businesses to use MoMo PSB’s apps, point-of-sale systems, USSD channels, and partner portals to manage payments, payroll, tills, and multiple outlets from a single platform.

The collaboration also promises access to MTN’s broader network and capacity-building programmes, signalling an attempt to make Nigeria’s fragmented SME sector more efficient and scalable.

For MoMo PSB, which is vying to expand its footprint in financial services, the move provides a ready pool of clients and data, while for SMEs, it could mean smoother operations and wider market reach if they can navigate the platform’s complexity.

Executive Director of Strategy and Innovation for MoMo PSB, Usoro Usoro, said, “This partnership with SMEDAN reflects our commitment to supporting small and medium-scale businesses with tools that help them operate more efficiently and unlock new growth opportunities.

“Through the MoMo PSB Business App, we’re making it easier for entrepreneurs to manage payments, increase revenue, and focus on growing their businesses profitably.”

The partnership underscores MoMo PSB and SMEDAN’s shared commitment to empowering entrepreneurs with practical, accessible financial solutions that reduce operational stress, improve cash flow, and enable business growth. By combining SMEDAN’s extensive SME network with MoMo PSB’s digital financial infrastructure, the collaboration will drive meaningful impact across Nigeria’s SME ecosystem.

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of SMEDAN, Charles Odii, also said, “This partnership is about removing friction and making sure financial support reaches small businesses in a way that is simple, transparent, and built for real impact.”

The benefits of MoMo PSB’s digital solutions are not limited to SMEs within the SMEDAN ecosystem. SMEs all over Nigeria can also access these tools for growth.

MoMo PSB said it remains committed to bridging the financial gap in Nigeria through strategic partnerships and collaboration.
