The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria on Tuesday unveiled its 60th anniversary logo and outlined activities for its diamond jubilee celebration at the institute’s secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos.
The anniversary, themed “Six Decades of Excellence: Shaping Governance, Empowering Futures”, will culminate in a grand finale in Lagos, with dates yet to be announced.
Speaking at the event, ICSAN President Uto Ukpanah said the anniversary year would focus on continuity, governance impact, and stakeholder engagement.
“This is our first activity for the year. Continuity is central to our vision. As the voice and hub of governance professionals, we will continue to work with stakeholders to deepen impact, particularly as we mark 60 years,” Ukpanah said.
She added that the institute would encourage dialogue among business leaders.
“We foresee that bringing key voices together will generate germane and thriving conversations among leaders across sectors,” she said.
Ukpanah also highlighted progress on the institute’s new national secretariat building.
“The construction, which commenced in February 2025, has progressed to the second floor. This project represents a strategic investment in institutional sustainability and operational efficiency. It will stand as a lasting legacy of the diamond jubilee,” she said.
The anniversary, she noted, also serves as a platform to mobilise support for the project.
“We aim to engage members, partners, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to ensure timely completion of the secretariat,” Ukpanah added.
ICSAN Vice President and Chairman of the 60th Anniversary Planning Committee, Francis Olawale, emphasised ICSAN’s role in shaping governance.
“Corporate governance is life. It exists in all endeavours, from family life to associations. At ICSAN, we empower professionals to enhance governance across private and public sectors,” he said.
Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Abiola Laseinde, said the institute has evolved into a centre of excellence in governance.
“We have moved from being seen only as company secretaries to becoming governance professionals across sectors. Today, our members occupy key leadership positions in both the private and public sectors. ICSAN is becoming a hub for technocrats to serve government, support policy advocacy, and exchange knowledge globally. Soon, Nigeria will be the hub for Africa in corporate governance,” Laseinde said.
The ICSAN @ 60 logo was unveiled by the President and led by the Vice President.
Established in 1966, ICSAN trains governance professionals who hold key positions across public and private sectors.
