Turkish Airlines renews three-year golf sponsorship deal

Turkish Airlines has signed a new three-year sports partnership agreement, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to elite professional golf and global sports sponsorship.

Under the renewed deal, the airline will continue its title sponsorship of the Turkish Airlines Open, one of the flagship events on the DP World Tour, held annually in Antalya.

This was contained in a statement from the airline, made available to The PUNCH on Tuesday.

The PUNCH gathered that Turkish Airlines first became title sponsor of the Turkish Airlines Open in 2013, hosting global stars such as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Sergio Garcia and Tyrrell Hatton.

Beyond professional golf, the airline also organises the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, the world’s largest amateur golf tournament, which this year was staged in 122 destinations across 83 countries.

According to the statement, the agreement secures the tournament’s place on the international golf calendar through the next three seasons, ensuring continuity for players, fans, and the wider golfing community.

The airline said the partnership reflects its broader strategy of using sport as a platform for global engagement.

The statement partly reads, “This agreement goes beyond branding; it is about long-term investment in sport, tourism, and international connection. Golf allows us to showcase Turkey as a world-class destination while engaging millions of fans worldwide.”

DP World Tour Director of Tournament Business, Mark Casey, also praised the extension of the partnership, noting that the National Golf Club will offer players a demanding and rewarding test.

“The DP World Tour are delighted that Turkish Airlines have extended their agreement as title partner, as the Turkish Airlines Open returns to the Race to Dubai in 2026,” Casey said.

National Golf Club General Manager Hasan Ceylan described hosting the tournament as a landmark moment for the club. He noted that the course, designed by former Ryder Cup player David Feherty and Seniors Tour player David Jones, is well equipped to deliver a world-class championship experience.

Speaking on the renewed sponsorship, Turkish Airlines Chief Executive Officer Bilal Ekşi said the partnership reflects both the airline’s dedication to sports and Türkiye’s growing profile as a global hub for tourism and international events.

Ekşi said, “We are pleased to once again become the title sponsor of an international event with the prestige of the Turkish Airlines Open. This tournament not only highlights the unifying power of sport but also strongly reflects Türkiye’s vision of being a global hub for sports and tourism. As Turkish Airlines, we remain firmly committed to supporting sports and athletes while contributing to our country’s brand value.”
