Burna Boy Ejects Couple From US Concert For Sleeping During Performance

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, stirred controversy on Wednesday night after ordering a couple out of his concert in Denver, United States, for allegedly sleeping during his performance.

The incident occurred midway into his set when the singer abruptly paused his show and called out the male attendee whose girlfriend appeared to be dozing off.

“When I stand up here (on the stage) and see you over there with your girl sleeping in the front of me, it pisses me fk up. So, please, take her the fk home… Walahi, I’m not performing another song till you go home,” Burna Boy fumed.

The lady initially hesitated to leave, but eventually exited the venue alongside her partner after the crowd joined the singer in urging them to go. Burna Boy then resumed his performance to cheers from the audience.

The episode has since generated mixed reactions online, with some fans condemning the singer’s action, describing it as disrespectful to paying concertgoers.

This is not the first time Burna Boy has drawn criticism for ejecting fans during a performance. He had previously kicked out a star-struck fan who ran on stage to hug him and, on another occasion, sent a fan out for not dancing during his set.

The self-styled ‘African Giant’ has earned a reputation for controversial onstage outbursts, sparking debate about his attitude toward fans at his shows.
