Crystal Fly’s Focus Is To Produce Quality, Family & Faith-based Movies – Idemudia

The Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Fly Productions, Pauline Idemudia, the latest movie production company, has said she has been inspired by Tyler Perry to produce quality, family-friendly, and faith-based movies.

Idemudia, who launched her media production company and first movie, ‘The Guilt,’ on her birthday, October 1, 2025, said her aim is to fill the storytelling gap in the movie industry, where quality, faith-based, and family movies are in short supply.

“One of the people who inspired me in this industry is Tyler Perry. His movies are inspiring, impactful and faith-based. He brings it to you in the rawest form. Crystal Fly will give it to our viewers as it is. No additional sentiments, and nothing too religious about it. It is about delivering storylines that are relatable to the situations people go through every day. And how they can apply God’s Word to them, to triumph over challenges, with testimonies.”

‘The Guilt’ featuring Idemudia and Zach Orji, alongside actors Benjamin Olaye, Ezz Samson, Prisma James, and Evangelist Dr Jerry, was shot in Asaba and directed by Emmanuel Eyaba. It is the story of a young pastor who, haunted by a sin in his past, drops further down the rabbit hole in his effort to hide the truth from his spouse.

Director Eyaba said the movie proves that, contrary to beliefs, one can make very good films in Asaba.
He highlighted an important lesson that the movie teaches, which both married and single individuals could benefit from, namely, the importance of openness in marriage.
“Be open to your spouse. They just might be the solution to your problems. It is also about helping to mend and build families.”

Eyaba said ‘The Guilt’ is one of the many stories he has partnered with Crystal Fly to produce. The choice of premiering the movie on YouTube at 8 pm on November 1 is in line with the current trend of Nigerian producers, who, in order to minimise distribution challenges, are currently releasing their films online.

This is where Crystal Fly comes in – to ensure that within the YouTube space, there are consistent, high-quality family and faith-based movies available.

“The Nigerian film industry has tilted to YouTube these days. We have very good films on YouTube. Incidentally, we do not have very good Christian content on YouTube. We want to fill that gap. I will be partnering with Crystal Fly to create a range of high-quality Christian and family movies that are accessible on YouTube, not just in cinemas or on Netflix.”

Veteran actor and Nollywood pioneer Sydney believes that players like Idemudia are among the people he is often inspired to encourage in the industry.

“When you see such people, you give them a little of what you have. It will encourage them to keep pushing forward with their vision.”

He further urged for government to provide financial support, cooperation, and policies in creating quality movies.

On the other hand, Diala said he was proud of what the industry has achieved on its own efforts, without government support.

He opined, “In the absence of that support. Let’s keep moving forward up till they wake up from slumber and do the needful.”
