Shallipopi, HammerBoi, Others To Headline Edo Carnival 2025

Wave-making musicians Shallipopi, HammerBoi, and others are set to thrill audiences at the Edo Carnival 2025, as organisers unveil an exciting lineup of activities for the highly anticipated week-long celebration.

Crown Uzama, professionally known as Shallipopi, a Nigerian singer and rapper who rose to fame in 2023 with his hit single Elon Musk , will headline the Grand Shine Concert in December.

The concert, set to take place in Benin City, will feature electrifying performances from Shallipopi, HammerBoi, and standout finalists from the Dreamalive Talent Quest.

With dazzling fireworks, a cutting-edge LED stage, and surprise celebrity appearances, the concert promises to attract massive crowds and serve as a spectacular finale to the festival. The night will also see the crowning of Miss Shinefest, capping off the week-long carnival in grand, glittering style.

With the theme “Illuminating Heritage, Celebrating Today,” the festival aims to showcase the rich traditions of the Heartbeat State while embracing its evolving modern identity.

In a statement released by the organisers, the event will unfold in two major phases. The pre-festival build-up begins with the Dreamalive Talent Ques, a talent hunt across Edo’s three senatorial districts to discover emerging musical stars. Finalists will earn a chance to perform at the carnival’s grand finale.

The main festivities begins on December 14 in Benin City, featuring week-long attractions such as the Shine Beer Barn and a festive Christmas Grotto. The core of the carnival runs from December , headlined by a Heritage Carnival that will take place simultaneously at three major locations. Highlights include masquerade parades, traditional wrestling matches, and other rich cultural displays celebrating Edo’s diverse communities.

“EDO CARNIVAL 2025 is more than just a cultural event; it’s a bold statement about Edo’s identity ,  past, present, and future,” the organisers stated.

Branded as EDO CARNIVAL 2025 SHINEfest, the event is expected to become one of Nigeria’s most anticipated cultural festivals. It is powered by Peak Rendezvous Global Limited in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser on Protocol to the Edo State Governor.

Other major attractions include: Cultural fiesta and food festival at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. The Shine Boat Regatta. A curated exhibition titled “Through the Eyes of Edo” on Igun Street, spotlighting local sculptors, photographers, and artisans
