Clean Energy: Tetracore, Dangote Expand Partnership

Tetracore Energy Group Limited, an integrated energy solutions provider with a growing portfolio in natural gas and power delivery across, has announced the successful commissioning of Phase 2 of its AutoGas Compressed Natural Gas supply network in partnership with Dangote Cement PLC. The company disclosed on Tuesday.

As part of the expansion, Tetracore commissioned a mobile AutoGas refuelling unit at the Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese, Ogun State. This deployment marks a continuation of both companies’ commitment to accelerating clean energy adoption across Nigeria’s industrial and transportation sectors.

The newly commissioned mobile unit is capable of delivering 50,000 standard cubic metres per day of AutoGas. This complements the 25,000 SCMD currently supplied by Tetracore’s CNG Mother Station in Atakabo, Ogun State, together supporting the growing demand for CNG as a cleaner and more sustainable alternative to conventional fuels.

According to the statement, Tetracore is also supplying AutoGas to Dangote Group’s new fleet of CNG-powered trucks to be deployed nationwide. This supply supports Dangote’s plan to roll out up to 10,000 CNG trucks annually, with fuel provided directly at the port.

The partnership is positioned to advance Nigeria’s shift to clean and efficient energy for logistics and transportation.

“This commissioning represents more than just an infrastructure upgrade,” said Project Team Lead, Masud Akajewole. “It is a reaffirmation of our strategic intent to support Nigeria’s gas utilisation projects while offering practical, innovative solutions that bridge energy gaps for industrial and transport players,” he added.

The development aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as national CNG initiatives focused on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy access, and supporting the country’s transition to sustainable energy sources.

The broader CNG supply network is designed to deliver up to 400,000 SCMD of compressed natural gas daily, serving both Dangote’s expanding fleet and other AutoGas users in the region.

In addition, a second 50,000 SCMD mobile CNG refuelling unit has also been deployed to enhance operational flexibility at the Dangote Cement Plant. These mobile solutions are designed to ensure an uninterrupted clean energy supply, especially in areas where permanent infrastructure is not yet available.

With more mobile units planned for deployment nationwide, Tetracore and Dangote Cement are deepening their partnership to support Nigeria’s clean energy future through a modular and scalable model for energy access.
