Axxela deepens domestic gas usage across Africa

Axxela Limited, a gas and power portfolio company in sub-Saharan Africa, has promised to enhance domestic gas consumption across Africa after being honoured with the Outstanding Gas Company of the Year.

In a statement yesterday, Axxela said the award presented at the Energy Times Excellence Awards reflected its commitment to expanding energy access for industries through vast investments in natural gas infrastructure development and an expansive pipeline network across regions, enabling industrial growth, and advancing Nigeria’s broader energy aspirations.

Commenting, Axxela’s Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Ononiwu, said, “From expanding natural gas infrastructure to powering industries and businesses, we have continued to set new industry benchmarks through milestone and strategic investments, thereby solidifying our industry leadership in infrastructure development and natural gas distribution.

“This recognition strengthens our resolve to enhance domestic gas utilisation in Nigeria and across Africa, delivering innovative energy solutions that meet the evolving needs of our stakeholders.

“This award is not just ours; it belongs to our incredible team, esteemed customers, and valued partners – whose trust, support, and collaboration continue to propel our success. Their sheer dedication and belief in our shared vision have made this possible, and we extend our deepest gratitude to each one of them.”

In the same vein, Modion Communications, a leading Pan-African public relations and strategic communications consultancy based in Nigeria, was awarded the Outstanding Oil & Gas PR Agency of the Year.

The Head of Strategy, Oluwatosin Baiyewu, said it is a profound honour to receive the award.

“We are genuinely grateful for the trust our clients place in us and remain steadfast in our ethos of promoting excellence, transparency, and collaboration within the energy sector through effective communication,” Baiyewu said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Modion Communications, Odion Aleobua, said, “This accolade is a testament to our team’s relentless drive for excellence and deep sectoral expertise.

As complex and vital as oil and gas, effective communication is not just about messaging—building trust, influencing policy, and driving sustainable growth.”
