Grooming centre empowers 3,500 women

Grooming Centre, a leading non-governmental organisation committed to financial inclusion and economic empowerment, has rewarded its longstanding members through the Client Loyalty Reward initiative.

As part of its commitment to improving the livelihoods of economically active poor women, Grooming Centre is distributing approximately 3,500 refrigerators to dedicated members across its six programme areas in Abia, Lagos, Abuja, Edo, Ogun, and Oyo, spanning 24 business zones.

Speaking on the significance of this initiative, Isoken Nwabunka, Executive Director, Administration, emphasised the Centre’s broader goal of financial inclusion and women’s empowerment: “At Grooming Centre, we believe in not just providing financial access but also in creating sustainable opportunities for our members. By rewarding their loyalty to our brand for over 10 years, this initiative goes beyond appreciation—it is about equipping these women with the resources they need to enhance their businesses and improve their standards of living.”

Maureen Abumere, Head of Client Services, reaffirmed the Centre’s dedication to supporting its members: “For over 18 years, Grooming Centre has remained steadfast in providing financial services and empowering women in small-scale businesses. The Client Loyalty Reward initiative is a testament to our commitment to recognising and appreciating these hard-working women who have contributed to their communities and remained loyal to our vision.”

The Client Loyalty Reward Event is designed to support women who have been members of Grooming People for Better Livelihood Centre for over a decade. These beneficiaries, primarily small business owners and traders, play a vital role in sustaining local economies through their businesses.

Samuel Olawuyi, Lagos Programme Manager, highlighted the impact of the initiative on members: “This programme is a reflection of Grooming Centre’s commitment to empowering women. By providing these refrigerators, we are helping them scale their businesses, increase their earnings, and improve their livelihoods. It is a practical step towards ensuring long-term economic stability for our members.”

Among the beneficiaries, Aisha Bello, a trader from Agbado in Lagos State, expressed her gratitude: “This refrigerator will help me expand my business. I have been selling drinks and food items for years, and now I can store more products and increase my sales. Grooming Centre has truly changed my life.”

Another beneficiary, Chinwe Okafor, from Abia State, shared her excitement: “Being a member of Grooming Centre for over 10 years has been rewarding. The loans and support have helped my business grow, and now, this refrigerator is another step forward for me. I am grateful for their continued support.”

Grooming Centre is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to providing financial services and economic empowerment to economically active poor individuals, particularly women in Nigeria. Through innovative financial solutions and capacity-building programmes, the Centre continues to uplift small business owners and contribute to sustainable community development.
