The FCMB SheVentures Mentoring Programme, in collaboration with NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women, has graduated 215 women entrepreneurs through mentoring.
Both partners held the virtual graduation ceremony for the women entrepreneurs recently.
According to a statement, the initiative, now in its 11th cohort, empowers women in business with essential skills, market access, and networking opportunities.
Over six weeks, participants received guidance in five critical business areas: strategic management, financial management, operations, sales and marketing, and human resources.
It noted that the programme included masterclasses by industry experts, one-on-one mentorship, sector-focused discussions, and book reviews to enhance entrepreneurial knowledge.
The President of NNEW, Mrs Adefunke Kuyoro, commended the mentees for their resilience and highlighted the programme’s role in equipping them for sustainable business growth.
“This graduation marks the start of a new chapter where these women will make impactful contributions to the economy,” she said.
The event featured a keynote address by the Head of Women Banking at FCMB, Mrs Nnenna Jagogo-Jack, who emphasised FCMB’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs.
She encouraged graduates to implement the lessons learned during the programme to scale their businesses.
The Managing Director and Cofounder of Lifefount Hospital, Dr Yemisi Adeyeye delivered an insightful lecture titled “Investment Readiness for Business Owners,” stressing the importance of preparation, strategic planning, and mentorship in securing investments.
She advised participants to maintain strong financial records and scalable business models.
Also, the Project Director, Mrs Eniola Mayowa, lauded the collaborative effort behind the programme.
She noted that graduates gained practical skills and confidence to navigate real-world challenges and seize opportunities.
“This initiative highlights the power of community and knowledge-sharing in fostering entrepreneurial growth,” she added.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates by Pastor Kemisola T’Oluwanimi, Head of NNEW Academy.
She urged graduates to leverage their new tools and networks to expand their businesses and contribute to societal development.
