LG unveils Christmas movie package


LG Electronics has announced that its Smart TV customers can now stream a Christmas movie, Red One, which it made available to customers with Amazon Prime membership in over 200 countries, including Nigeria.

The movie, featuring international actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, and J.K. Simmons, was produced by Amazon MGM Studios, according to a statement.

To mark its release, LG partnered with Prime Video for a marketing campaign. The collaboration includes teaser visuals on LG’s website, digital billboards displayed at Times Square in New York, Piccadilly Circus in London, and promotional efforts at online and offline sales outlets.

Senior Vice President of LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, Chris Jo, hailed the partnership, stating, “At LG, we’re inspired by how innovation can enrich everyday life, creating meaningful moments at home. Our collaboration with Prime Video allows us to deliver premium content directly to LG customers, enabling them to enjoy this season’s must-see Christmas blockbuster, Red One.”

Prime Video’s Global Head of Distribution and Partnerships, Sandhya Iyer, added: “Thanks to our long-standing relationship with LG, we can continue to delight our mutual customers by creating immersive experiences both off-screen and on-screen through the Prime Video app on LG Smart TVs.”

As part of the collaboration, LG sponsored the U.S. premiere of Red One, held at New York’s Lincoln Centre. The event showcased LG’s TV technology, offering guests its cinematic viewing experience.
