Why Adeleke Deserves Second Term


…Declares for Osun Central Senate seat

A chieftain of Accord in Osun State, Hon.Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi and scores of his supporters have declared their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second term bid.

Speaking shortly after declaring his intention to run for the Osun West Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections, Olasunkanmi attributed their resolve to work assiduously for the second-term ambition of Adeleke to his laudable performance in providing responsive leadership at the governance level and delivering democratic dividends to the citizens of the state.

He expressed optimism that with the support of the masses, who have benefited from the socioeconomic impacts of the governor’s infrastructural projects, Accord’s victory in the 2026 poll is guaranteed.

Olasunkanmi, who declared his intention to contest for the Osun Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections under the platform of the Accord Party, expressed optimism that the party would triumph in the gubernatorial election.

The Osogbo-based grassroots political mobiliser made his intention known in a letter dated March 1, 2026, and submitted to the Ward Chairman of Accord, Ward 11 Baba Kekere, Osogbo Local Government, Osun State.

He said that his decision was driven by a passion for service, commitment to the progress of the people and development of the state.

He noted that he has been actively involved in community development and youth empowerment through the Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi Foundation, which has supported educational and humanitarian initiatives.

According to him, “I write with great respect and a deep sense of responsibility to formally declare my intention to contest for the office of Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections under the platform of the Accord Party.

“This decision is born out of my passion for service, commitment to the progress of our people, and a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“Over the years, I have remained actively involved in community development and youth empowerment initiatives through the Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi Foundation, which has supported educational programs, youth development initiatives, and humanitarian outreach within our communities.

Olasunkanmi outlined his priorities to include youth empowerment, job creation, educational advancement, economic growth, support for small businesses, and community development. He also emphasised the need for transparent and accountable leadership.

“I strongly believe that the people of Osun Central deserve purposeful representation that prioritises: Youth empowerment and job creation.

“Educational advancement and Scholarship opportunities, Economic growth and support for small businesses, Community development and infrastructure advocacy, and transparent and accountable leadership.
