VeryDarkMan, Mr Jollof Engage In Mid-air Fight

A viral video has captured the moment social media critic, Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, better known as Mr Jollof, engaged in a physical fight aboard a commercial flight, as fellow passengers, including comedian Funny Bone, scrambled to separate them.

The footage, shared by Facebook user Dr Paul Ezikel on Monday, showed the duo trading blows inside a United Nigeria Airlines flight reportedly travelling from Asaba, Delta State, to Lagos.

VDM and Mr Jollof have a history of online clashes, with tensions escalating after VDM accused the comedian’s wife of having affairs with internet fraudsters, a claim that sparked widespread controversy.

Confirming the altercation, VDM took to his Facebook page shortly after the incident, boasting that he had “dealt with” Mr Jollof.

In a follow-up video, he lifted his shirt to display bite marks on his torso, saying, “He bite me… man wey dey bite, he no shame. They beg am. I enter plane, I see am. I say, ‘You go slap me today o.’ I go near am, he punch me. He don spoil my tattoo now with him teeth wey he no brush.”
He also mocked the comedian, adding, “I don chop Jollof father for inside plane.”

Reacting to the incident, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, in a statement on X, requested details to aid an investigation.

“If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations,” he wrote.
